Derbyshire County Council: we've been fortunate enough to work with the council on a wide range of design projects for several years now, the projects shown below represent a fraction of this work. We approach each and every project the same way, with the simple aim of producing great work.
Work completed: Logo design, flyer design, leaflet design, brochure design, banners, postcards, advertising (newspapers and magazine), signage design.
Youth Service banner designs: A set of five exhibition banners (two shown) promoting the Youth Service and its activities. The style uses simple strong colours, bold typography and imagery. A leaflet was also produced.
Admissions guides: The design of 60-70 page admissions guides (one for primary and one for secondary) for parents, giving essential information about applying for their child's school place. The key to the design is showing the information in a simple easy to read way and having a colour coded system of sections so that relevant information can be located easily.
Trusted Trader is a scheme to help people choose a trader that they can Trust. It's council run and aims to give peace of mind by making sure any traders who sign up to the scheme are reputable, with consumers then choosing a Trusted Trader.
We were asked to design the logo and and the various printed materials that would define the scheme. The logo is simple and strong, instantly recognisable, and works with different 'taglines' depending on the application. The printed materials use the council colours of purple and orange to reinforce the fact that the scheme is a council one. So far the scheme has been a great success and garnered alot of positive publicity.
The Big Vote: we designed the publicity materials for this, where students are introduced to the voting proces and encouraged to try to get elected to the youth council. Materials designed included a nomination guide, a teaching booklet and poster designs. We came up with a strong visual style with the aim of appealing to the audience of 11-19 year olds.
We're not wasters: this is an advertising campaign to encourage people to recycle and also re-use. We were supplied with the title and the re-use ideas for a set of three posters and adverts (one shown) - we came up with a strong visual style, appropriate to the theme, that could follow through to other materials. We also sourced the images.
Library card designs: the design of three library cards aimed at different age ranges (one of the three shown). The cards aim to highlight other library services alongside the traditional books.
